Scofflaw

This cocktail was invented in Paris, but was named after the label given to Americans who secretly still imbibed during prohibition. The Scofflaw is pretty spirit-forward but still light and refreshing at the same time.

ingredients:

1 1/2 oz rye whiskey

1 oz dry vermouth

3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

1/2 oz grenadine

2 dashes orange bitters

Garnish: orange zest

instructions:

Shake all ingredients with ice then double strain into chilled cocktail glass. Add orange zest for garnish.
