Lemonade Stand

Another "HPP Original."

I love Summer time, but I also have low-level anxiety about all the lemonade stands that pop-up around the neighborhood; all these little kids making you feel guilty unless you stop and buy their 25¢ watered-down lemonade. Okay, that doesn't exactly give me anxiety, but is it really that hard to make good lemonade?! Thinking about opening a stand of my own and whipping up some of these!

ingredients:

1 oz vodka

1 oz Ginger liqueur (one with a fresh, strong ginger BITE to it!)

1/2 oz full-strength turmeric drinking vinegar

3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

1/3 oz simple syrup

tonic water

Garnish: lime wheel

instructions:

Add all ingredients (except for tonic) to shaker and shake with ice until chilled. Strain into rocks glass and top with tonic water. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

The turmeric drinking vinegar I used is from PokPok– super tasty but really strong, so you don't need much. The type of ginger liqueur is also key. I used one made by New Deal Distillery here in Portland. Theirs is the best I've found so far!
