I purchased some pretty fantastic habanero-infused sea salt from Bittermans Salt Co. and mixed up this drink so I could use it! If you can't find fancy salt like this, you can probably mix ground habanero with chunky sea salt (be careful though... don't add too much habanero!)
1 1/2 oz blanco tequila
1 1/2 oz fresh pink grapefruit juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz agave nectar (or simple syrup)
5-7 drops of Hellfire Habanero shrub
Habanero-infused sea salt
Garnish: Lime wheel and grapefruit wedge
Rim the edge of the glass with a slice of grapefruit then dip into habanero-infused salt (you can do just one side to give your guest the option of bypassing the spicy salt). Add ingredients to shaker, shake with ice until chilled, then strain into salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and grapefruit slice.
The Hellfire Habanero Shrub isn't incredibly spicy when you only use a few drops. I like spicy drinks so that's why I tend to use 7+ drops of it in one drink. Adjust accordingly!
