Daiquiri
Whenever I get a new rum, the first thing I make with it is a daiquiri. It's one of those 3-ingredient cocktails that is a magic combination; rum, fresh lime juice and sugar. However, rum is one of the most diverse spirits in the world and this is very apparent when you throw different rums into a daiquiri. I will often try tweaking the amount of lime / simple syrup depending on the rum used. Even changing as little as ¼ oz of each ingredient can tip the balance of flavor.
This recipe is a good starting point. Experiment with different rums and with adjusting the recipe amounts and see what you prefer!
ingredients:
2 oz your choice of rum
3/4 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
instructions:
Add all ingredients to shaker and shake with ice until chilled. Double-strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with a lime wheel.
